Wyoming Duck & Goose Hunting
North Platte Lodge sits on the western edge of the Central Flyway. Early season hunts offer the waterfowler shots at blue-winged and green-winged teal, gadwall, widgeon, mallards, and Canada geese. These seasonal hunts can be heavily influenced by October and November weather patterns.
The early season is a great time to book a cast-and-blast trip. Spend your mornings pursuing ducks or geese while saving the rest of the day for trout. For the hardier lot, December and January weather patterns can also yield large numbers of ducks and geese on the North Platte River. We also have fantastic fishing in the winter, so don’t rule that out.
The experienced staff at North Platte Lodge will do everything possible to put you on the birds. Our hunting guides are enthusiastic, while being experts of their sport and waterfowl patterns.
North Platte Lodge adheres to all Wyoming Game and Fish hunting and fishing regulations. Each hunter will only harvest their legal daily limit and will not go above their possession limit. Sage Grouse make an exceptional mount and we are happy to properly package and ship the birds to the taxidermist. Hunters must take their birds with them or we can ship them at the hunter’s expense.
